Conducting environmental due diligence for developers and owners for the acquisition or divestiture of commercial real estate is a major area of our business. These properties range from vacant parcels to office buildings and shopping malls. Our services include site assessments to address environmental concerns, and the design and implementation of remediation programs to clean-up soils and groundwater. We also provide geotechnical and site civil engineering for the redevelopment of brownfields, as well as greenfield site development.
At URS, we design high-performance, sustainable “green” buildings that use energy, water and other resources more efficiently and reduce the overall impact to the environment. Many of these buildings meet the design guidelines of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. In addition, we provide property condition surveys, architectural design and historic preservation services for landmarked buildings and seismic retrofits to meet current earthquake codes.
